The Verandahs Styled Shoot :: Byron Bay Wedding Photographer

A little over a month ago, I was honoured to be approached by Trudy + Nadia from Love Bird Weddings, to photograph a styled shoot at The Verandahs (an incredible property) in the Byron Bay hinterland, in the small country town of Bangalow. The idea was to provide an all-encompassing feel of a wedding at this venue – from the stationery and invitation suite, right through to the sort of food that would compliment the setting. The creative team behind this shoot was hand selected by the girls and these vendors certainly didn’t disappoint… There are so many amazing locations to shoot wedding photography in the Byron Bay hinterland. The incredible landscapes and old character to the area is exactly why I love to shoot weddings here… it’s like everywhere you look there is another beautiful wedding photograph just waiting for the right bride and groom to be involved.What’s to follow is a visual feast for the eyes full of inspiring details, which was an absolute joy to shoot. Naomi + Caleb :: Country Styled Wedding :: Creative Wedding Photographer Australia

You may remember Naomi + Caleb, from their sneak peek I posted last month. To be honest, I’ve been busting at the seams to bring you their wedding in full, so without further delay, read on. Set in the small country town of Killarney just on the border of NSW & QLD is Naomi’s grandparents property. It was important for the couple to incorporate as many personal and meaningful touches as possible. This made their country inspired wedding all the more special. Well, that and the undeniable connection that they share which is evident in these photos. I can honestly say that I was completely moved throughout this wedding – there were so many special, heartfelt and teary moments and I was overjoyed not only for them, but their families too. It was an honour to be there to capture their wedding. Naomi + Caleb, thank you so much for inviting me to share in your wedding day and being your creative wedding photographer. I hope you enjoy these photos for many years to come.

Ally + Grant :: One Frame :: Creative Wedding Photographer Brisbane

I had the most amazing time with Ally + Grant shooting their Brisbane wedding last Friday – such a lovely and genuine couple! Ally is English and Grant is Scottish (as you can tell from the kilt) and while they are based here in Brisbane, most of their family and friends reside in Europe so a number of them flew over to celebrate the holiday season and Grant + Ally’s special day. A small and intimate ceremony & reception shared with their closest, this wedding was absolutely full to the brim with LOVE, and they were so welcoming that by the end of the night I felt more like a guest.

Naomi + Caleb :: One Frame :: Country Styled Wedding Photographer

Naomi + Caleb, an extremely talented pair (both singers of The Phoncurves + The Art of Sleeping respectively) are ridiculously in love – 100% soul mates. This wedding was so tearful and heartfelt – during the ceremony it was clear just how much their family and friends adore them and by the end of the day, I was pretty sure that I was just a wee bit smitten with them too! I couldn’t wipe the smile of my face the entire day because these two are just so damn happy together that it was IMPOSSIBLE not to be stoked for them… a lot more soon…

Rosie + Stuart :: E-Shoot :: Brisbane Wedding Photographer

Hello friends! It’s December already?! Can you believe that the end of yet another year is upon us? I’d love to say that I’m winding down and enjoying the festivities but I’ve still got so much to share with you all before the year is out, so I hope you’re ready. I couldn’t more excited for the new year – a number of the engaged couples I’ve shot this year are tying the knot in ’13 and I can’t wait to see them all again! On that note, meet Rosie + Stuart – aren’t they quite the handsome pair? I love shooting engagements for many reasons; there’s something about the happiness that radiates from an engaged couple, that excitement for what’s to come, you know? Here are a few of my favourite frames from an afternoon spent at leafy Mt. Cootha. R+S, I’m hyped for your wedding next March – I can’t wait to spend the day with you and your loved ones.

Bohemian Floral Shoot :: Kate Dawes Flower Design

When it comes to flowers, like most blokes, I don’t know my ~~belly~~ billy buttons* from my daisies, but what I do know is that Kate Dawes is one helluva talent when it comes to the art of arranging flowers. A few weeks ago, Kate asked me to take a few frames of her bohemain inspired wedding arrangements (thanks Kate!) so I thought a share a few with you. If you’re getting married and in need of an extremely creative florist, I highly recommend you pop on over and check out more of Kate’s work here. *I may or may not have been calling them belly buttons for a while, much to the amusement of my wife…….
